The Solution Architect owns the architectural and technology direction of the solution and defines the primary components, subsystems, interfaces and collaborations. The Solution Architect helps  the development team align to the design and support of the Domain Architect to align to the CARA strategic architectural vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Designing the functional solution for the new system, making sure that it fits the business requirements
  • Developing the proposed functional architecture, system landscape and interface flow, with input from all relevant parties.
  • Ensuring the proposed architecture works alongside the existing processes and solutions
  • Responsible for delivering the solution design and strategy document.
  • Responsible for the technology and architectural direction of the solution
  • Responsible for the solution components, subsystems and interfaces
  • Ensuring solution architecture aligns with CARA and LKQ architectural principles
  • Work with stakeholders to establish the technology/ architectural direction of the solution
  • Create and communicate architectural designs for the solution
  • Provide guidance to the development team to align them behind the vision
  • Assist the Product Owner and development team refine the backlog
  • Participate in PI planning and Sprint Reviews
  • Attend Digital Design Board to validate the local approach and contribute to LKQ-wide architectural decisions
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the CARA Architectural Runway
  • Assist the Lead Digital Architect in product/vendor selection

Key and Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in software and product developmen
  • Knowledge of architectural methods like IAF (Integrated Architecture Framework) or TOGAF (the Open Group Architecture Framework)
  • Agile experience
  • Scrum master experience
  • Digital technical knowledge
  • Balancing the integrity of the solution with the need to align the solution architecture with CARA and LKQ architecture.
  • Being open to new ideas which initially do not align with the solution intent
  • Ensuring the development team takes a customer-centric approach
  • Understanding technology used in other markets
